What led you to apply to APHD at OISE?
I was drawn to the APHD program at OISE because of its exceptional faculty, whose expertise and commitment to mentorship truly inspire me. The dynamic and engaging academic community seemed like the ideal place to grow both personally and professionally.

What was your past experience like?
Before applying to OISE, I worked as a mental health support worker in a community center. This role allowed me to engage directly with clients facing various challenges, providing me with valuable insights into the therapeutic process. I also teach part time as a mental health and addictions instructor as well!

What is one thing you like most about your experience so far at OISE?
The collaborative learning environment at OISE has been a highlight for me. Engaging with diverse perspectives during discussions and group projects has enriched my understanding and is helping me grow both personally and professionally.

What is your favourite thing about Toronto?
I love the cultural diversity of Toronto. The city is a melting pot of different cultures, which is reflected in its food, festivals, and neighbourhoods. There鈥檚 always something new to explore.

What does your 鈥渨eekend鈥 typically look like?
Typical weekend for me would be catching up on my books, walking/hiking with my family and friends and catching up on sleep!

What are some of your hobbies & interests?
In my free time, I love watching movies, particularly sci-fi or psychological thrillers. I also enjoy listening to music, hiking and reading.

What is your favourite type of cuisine?
I am obsessed with Korean BBQ and Korean bao!

Where do you see yourself after you achieve your degree from APHD?
After completing my degree, I envision myself working closely with emerging adults and the post-secondary student population, particularly focusing on racialized and marginalized youth. I aim to develop programs that address their unique challenges and promote mental well-being within these communities.
