Intermediate/Senior Teaching Subjects and Prerequisites
Applicants who apply to the Master of Teaching Program's Intermediate/Senior (I/S) division will be eligible to teach children from grades seven to twelve.
Please note that you must select two subject specializations, known as a "teachable" or "teaching subject" from the list below and indicate these in your application.
Please ensure that you have the required number of undergraduate course prerequisites for the chosen teaching subjects prior to applying to this division. A course will be counted as a prerequisite toward your teaching subjects chosen if you have completed and received credit for the course or if you can prove you are currently enrolled in the prerequisite course on your transcript. Note that the course you are enrolled in must be completed before the start of the Master of Teaching Program.
The Â鶹´«Ã½ division of the Registrar's Office and Student Experience and the Master of Teaching program cannot provide an assessment of credentials for teaching subject eligibility prior to submission of an application.
Important Notes:
- Applicants may choose only one of Music-Instrumental or Music-Vocal, not both
- If candidates select two science teaching subjects, they must have a minimum of 10 full-year university courses in the sciences and these must include the prerequisite courses for each of the two science teaching subjects
