Current Opportunities
The Multilingualism & Literacy Lab at the Â鶹´«Ã½, University of Toronto, is looking to hire proficient French and/or English speaking student research assistants to work on a research project seeking to understand the relationship between oral language and reading comprehension among children who receive school instruction in French, as their second language.
Position Description:
- Research assistants will administer a battery of language and reading measures in English and French to school age children.
- Research assistants will collect data among school age children in school boards in Toronto.
- They will process data at the Multilingualism & Literacy Lab.
Requirements:
- Undergraduate or graduate student.
- Strong proficiency French.
- Strong proficiency in English.
- Basic research skills are preferred but not required (interacting with children, administering experimental and standardized measures, coding and entering data).
- Availability to collect data in-person in schools around Toronto is a must.
- Time commitment: 8 hours per week.

- Data collection including preparation will occur completely in-person in Toronto.
