Ben was a research associate in the BOLD lab and the Princeton Baby Lab. His research explores language learning, bilingualism, and how the brain represents linguistic categories. He uses behavioral, computational, and neuroimaging methods in this work. Ben is now a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Psychology Department at Swarthmore College.

Joelle Hannon completed a Ph.D. in Linguistics and Cognitive Science at the University of Delaware. She holds a B.A. in Anthropology from the University of North Texas and an M.A. in Linguistics and Cognitive Science from the University of Delaware. Her research interests are in literacy development and second language acquisition and how these relate to memory and other aspects of neurocognitive development.

Shakhlo Nematova completed a Ph.D. in Linguistics at the University of Delaware. She holds a B.A. in English from The Uzbek State World Languages University and an M.A. in Linguistics and Cognitive Science from the University of Delaware. Her work examined the relationship between audiovisual speech perception and reading in monolingual and bilingual children.

Hassan Abdulrasul completed an M.A. in the Developmental Psychology and Education program at OISE. Hassan has a strong interest in the interdisciplinary approach of using neuroimaging techniques to understand human development and various pathologies. His work with the BOLD lab involved investigating the impact of interrupted schooling on the development of neural systems for reading in resettled refugee children.

Axel Seri completed a Master’s degree in ethics and governance with a focus on sustainable development at the Center for Research and Action for Peace (CERAP) in Côte d’Ivoire, under the co-supervision of Dr. Jasińska. After his time in the BOLD lab, Axel completed an Executive Master degree at The Graduate Institute in Geneva, Switzerland and continued to a Ph.D. program at the University of Ottawa. He is passionate about research and hopes to contribute to scientific innovation serving sustainable development in Africa.

Sosthene is a former graduate student and research assistant in the BOLD lab (co-supervised by Dr. Jasinska at Center for Research and Action for Peace (CERAP) in Côte d’Ivoire). Sosthene completed an M.A. in child development at the University of Haifa in Israel, and continued to a Ph.D. program at Northwestern University. He holds an M.A. in sustainable development with a specialization in corporate social responsibility, as well as a master’s in English studies. His research works focus on development issues related to education and sustainability in Africa.

Adji Thierry holds a M.A. in Linguistics from the University of Félix Houphouët-Boigny, where he has also studied law. He is the team’s Attie specialist and also administers French-language assessments as part of the Promoting Literacy Development in Rural Cocoa-Producing Communities, Allô Alphabet, and SEME project.

Faryal Khan completed an M.Ed. in the Developmental Psychology and Education program at OISE. Her research interests in cognitive development derive from working as a therapist for children with ASD. Faryal’s work with the BOLD lab investigated the role of early life experiences on executive functions and literacy skills.

Stephanie completed an undergraduate degree in Psychology and Education at York University. She has over 9 years of experience working as a teacher to children across a variety of ages and abilities. Stephanie’s research interests’ centers on education and child development, especially in at-risk children. Her work in the BOLD lab investigated the impact of educational technology for children facing schooling disruptions in Côte D’Ivoire.

Anicet N'Goh N'Goran completed a Ph.D. in Sociology of Economy and Innovations and holds a Master's degree in Sociology of Economic and Social Development from the FHB University of Côte d'Ivoire. Anicet worked on the "Promoting literacy development in rural cocoa-growing communities" and "Allô Alphabet" projects, within the framework of the Transforming Education in Cocoa Communities (TREEC) program. He is an expert and specialist in the use of MARP tools through monitoring/evaluation systems of social and community projects. He has expertise in social and environmental audits through ESIAs, PGEAs and the development of research protocols in social and environmental impact studies. In addition, his diverse interests include issues related to urbanization, market transactions, social conflicts, resilience, etc. In this respect, he has collaborated with several research centers (IACC, UNICEF, SEARCH FOR COMMON GROUND, USAID and CERAP, EMEC-CI).

Medha completed an M.Ed. in the Developmental Psychology and Education program at OISE. She holds a B.A. in Economics from Flame University in Pune, India. Following her undergraduate degree, she worked in research organizations focusing on behavioral economics, poverty, and educational assessments. Her research interests include social and emotional learning, mental health, and quality education, especially in underserved communities.
